Knoevel: a place for special piggies!!
Knoevel is a retirement home for piggies with special needs in the Netherlands. Piggies that have an illness that can’t be taken care of at home, are taken care in that wonderful place.
We are talking of piggies that are born with brain damage, born without eyes, severe deformities, severe allergies, continuous health problems, etc. Brain damaged piggies like to live together, as they will be rather quiet and are easily frightened. Piggies born blind can have a great social life spending it with piggies that have the same problem. And the effort that is done there to give them a happy life, goes on and on.
Here are two examples: Hope and Plonky. Hope got her name as she is a true example of what happens at Knoevel.
The foundation is sponsored by donations and by people who adopt a piggie. The piggie remains at Knoevel, but is sponsored by you, as a distant parent. You will be updated on the piggies health, you will receive a certificate of being a proud owner. You can also sponsor by buying a fabulous item in one of their shops. All the earnings go to Knoevel, not a penny to the people who donated items for the shops.
